Vivo is launching its new foldable phone, the Vivo X Fold 5, in China on June 25, 2025. The company says that this phone will be light and strong. Let’s know its special features:

Design and Screen
The Vivo X Fold 5 is very slim and beautiful, especially when folded. It will be available in green, black and titanium colors. It has an LTPO 8T display (both inside and outside) that can get very bright up to 4500 nits. It is also safe for the eyes as it has received TÜV Rheinland Global Eye Protection 3.0 certification. The colors of its display look even better with Zeiss Master Color technology.
Camera
The Vivo X Fold 5 has three cameras on the back, which are equipped with Zeiss optics:
- 50MP Sony IMX921 main camera: For taking great pictures.
- 50MP Autofocus Ultra-Wide Camera: For taking wide pictures.
- 50MP Sony IMX882 3x Periscope Telephoto Camera: For taking zoomed pictures of distant objects and macro (very close) pictures.
Vivo’s product manager said that this phone is thinner than the previous X Fold 3 Pro (just 4.x mm), yet it has a telephoto lens with better zoom.
Robustness and Durability
This phone is quite robust. It is IPX8, IPX9 and IPX9+ certified, which means it is safe even in deep water, high heat and pressure. It is the first foldable phone that is also IP5X dustproof, meaning it will be protected from dust as well.
Battery and Performance
The Vivo X Fold 5 has a Blue Ocean battery that works even in cold as -30 degrees Celsius. It will be the world’s lightest inward-folding foldable phone, even lighter than the previous record holder X Fold 3 (219 grams).
Connected with iPhone!
This is the first Android phone that can connect directly to Apple iCloud. You can view photos and files from iCloud from your Apple account with the file management app on the phone. You can also view, edit and real-time sync Apple Notes.
In addition, this phone supports dual-machine interconnection with iPhone. This means that you can see and answer messages, verification codes and calls coming on the iPhone on the X Fold 5.

- It is likely to have Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, which will give very fast performance.
- Wireless charging and fast charging support will be available.
- It will come with OriginOS 5 based on Android 15, making the phone easy and fun to operate.
