Vietnam’s famous electric vehicle manufacturing company VinFast is going to enter India. The company has planned to launch its two great electric SUVs VF6 and VF7 on Indian roads before Diwali 2025.VinFast is building a large EV manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu at a cost of $ 2 billion. VinFast VF6: Stylish and modern electric SUV
Design and size
The VF6 is a very attractive and wind-cutting design SUV. It has the company’s special ‘V’ shaped LED light setup, DRL strip across the width and 19-inch stylish alloy wheels. It is 4,238 mm long, 1,820 mm wide and 1,594 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,730 mm. This makes it a good car to drive in the city.
Interiors and Features
The interiors of the VF6 are very simple and modern. It gets a 12.9-inch touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Apart from this, it also gets safety and convenience features like a digital instrument cluster, over-the-air (OTA) updates, level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems), blind spot monitoring, 6 airbags, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist and a 360-degree camera.

The VinFast VF6 comes in two variants: Eco and Plus. Both get a 59.6 kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor on the front axle.
Eco variant: 178 bhp power and 250 Nm torque, WLTP range 399 km.
Plus variant: 204 bhp power and 310 Nm torque, WLTP range 381 km. The SUV charges fast, allowing it to charge up to 80% in 30 minutes.
VinFast VF7: Futuristic Coupe SUV
Design and Dimensions
The VF7 is a futuristic coupe SUV with a sharp design and ‘V’ shaped LED light bars (front and rear). It gets a fully LED setup and 20-inch alloy wheels in the Plus variant. It measures 4,545 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width and 1,636 mm in height, giving it a premium and sporty look.

The interiors of the VF7 are high-tech, with features like a large 15-inch touchscreen, in-built VinFast assistant, Alexa support (in some markets), panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, Level 2 ADAS, 7 airbags, advanced cruise control and automatic parking. This SUV is a perfect blend of luxury and technology.

The VF7 also comes in two variants: Eco and Plus. Both are powered by a 75.3 kWh battery.
Eco variant: Single motor, 204 bhp power, 310 Nm torque, WLTP range 450 km.
Plus variant: Dual motor, 354 bhp power, 500 Nm torque, WLTP range 431 km. The VF7 supports DC fast charging, which can charge it from 10% to 80% in 25-30 minutes.

VinFast plans in India
VinFast is all set to promote electric vehicles in India. The manufacturing plant to be built in Thoothukudi is expected to be fully operational by 2026, creating thousands of jobs. The plan to set up additional plants in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh shows the company’s long-term investment in India. Apart from this, VinFast is also focusing on building a network of charging stations across the country and partnering with local suppliers.
The VinFast VF6 and VF7 will compete with vehicles like MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta EV and Tata Nexon EV in the Indian market. The price and launch date of these SUVs is expected to be officially announced soon, but it is estimated that the price of VF6 can be between ₹ 20-25 lakh and the price of VF7 can be between ₹ 30-35 lakh (ex-showroom).
