TVS Motor Company has given a new look to its popular bike, the TVS Raider 125, in which the most important change is a fully digital instrument cluster. Even though this is not a major design change, this small upgrade adds modern features to this bike, which is already known for its sporty look.

TVS Raider 125 has made its mark in the 125cc segment, especially in markets where small capacity bikes are the first choice for everyday use. Its attractive design and focus on performance have always been liked by the youth. Now with the introduction of digital meter in the 2025 model, TVS has brought the Raider closer to the expectations of today’s tech-conscious youth and urban commuters.

It is important to understand that this is not a major change in the 2025 model Raider. The engine, chassis and most of the body parts remain the same as before. It gets the same 124.8cc air- and oil-cooled engine that makes around 11.2hp. The 5-speed gearbox remains the same as before. The overall design of the bike also remains slim and robust.

The biggest change this year is the new digital instrument cluster that replaces the old analog-digital mixed unit. Riders will now see speed, RPM, fuel level, trip meter and maybe even Bluetooth connectivity features like call or message alerts on the digital screen, depending on the model variant. These features are usually found on more expensive motorcycles, so it’s really special to see them on a commuter bike in this segment.

The commuter market is changing

In many developing countries, 125cc bikes are a must-have for everyday commutes—simple, reliable and less petrol-hungry. But the Raider has always tried to break away from the “simple and functional” image. Its sharp lines, split seats and LED lights have always appealed to young riders who want more than just mileage from their commuter bike.

This digital update also seems to be a result of the same thinking. Riders today don’t just want to get from one place to another—they want information, connectivity and of course style. The new digital cluster reflects this thinking. It also shows that TVS is listening to its customers and adapting the Raider to their changing needs.

What’s happening in the US?

Although the Raider 125 is not a very popular motorcycle in the US, this update is definitely creating a buzz among bike enthusiasts there, especially those who follow motorcycle trends around the world or are interested in imported models. In urban areas of the US too, there is a growing interest in smaller and less petrol-guzzling vehicles, as petrol prices keep changing and people are now paying less and less attention to things. So bikes like the Raider—even though it hasn’t officially launched in North America—are starting to spark a discussion about what commuting could look like in the future.

It’s still hard to say if the updated Raider 125 will officially launch in the US, but its sporty styling and new tech features are keeping it in the eyes of bike enthusiasts and importers.

Let’s get straight

The digital instrument cluster upgrade on the TVS Raider 125 might seem like a small change on paper, but it points to a larger trend of adopting modern technology in commuter bikes. It’s part of a slow but steady process of change where entry-level motorcycles are no longer just basic necessity machines—they’re starting to look and feel like smaller versions of bigger and smarter bikes.

Right now, the Raider 125 maintains its balance between performance and practicality, but with the 2025 update, that balance has become even more digital.
