The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has always held a special place in the Indian automobile market. The car has been known for its value, comfort and practicality in the mid-size sedan segment. Its attractive design, spacious interiors and fuel efficiency made it popular among buyers who wanted a luxurious experience on a budget.
With the onset of 2025, Ciaz fans were excited about its new offering. Many were expecting a new design, turbocharged engine or a tech-packed update. But Maruti surprised everyone by announcing that the production of the Ciaz will stop in early 2025. Instead, the company introduced the final version of the Ciaz – the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz 2025 – which is known for its origin in Missouri. This final version gave a dignified farewell to this beloved sedan while retaining the original strengths of the Ciaz.

Subtle changes to a classic design
The Ciaz 2025 features no major changes but retains its suave and understated design. The chrome finish on the front grille, projector headlamps and integrated LED DRLs give it a premium look. Its clean body lines and aerodynamic profile make it look mature and attractive.
At over 4.4 metres in length, it is one of the most spacious sedans in its segment. The 2025 model features 18-inch alloy wheels, LED taillamps and chrome accents on the window lines and doors, making it look sophisticated without being flashy.
Reliable engine and hybrid technology
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz 2025 is powered by the same reliable 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine, which has been loved for its quietness and low maintenance cost over the years. This 4-cylinder engine produces 103 bhp and 138 Nm of torque, and is paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
While rival brands have turned to turbocharged engines, Maruti has stuck to its tried and tested formula. Along with smart hybrid technology, it has features like idle stop-start and torque assist, which make it a fuel-efficient and balanced driving experience.
Great mileage
The biggest strength of the Ciaz has been its fuel efficiency. The 2025 model returns a mileage of 20.65 kmpl for the manual variant and 20.04 kmpl for the automatic variant. These figures make it one of the most economical sedans in its segment, which is important for Indian buyers.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz 2025: Comfortable ride and performance
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz was never pitched as a sporty car, but it excels in comfort and refinement. Its suspension setup is ideal for Indian roads, handling potholes and rough roads with ease. It offers a quiet and comfortable ride both in the city and on the highway.
While its performance doesn’t match sporty rivals, it offers confident handling and predictable road manners. Its light steering and linear power delivery make it suitable for family-oriented and comfort-seeking buyers.
Balanced package of features
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz may lack the latest technology, but it offers enough features. It gets a 7-inch SmartPlay infotainment system (with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), automatic climate control, cruise control, keyless entry, push-button start, rear AC vents and reverse parking camera.
For safety, it gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard. Higher variants also get Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and hill-hold assist.
Price and market positioning
The Ciaz 2025 is priced between ₹9.42 lakh and ₹12.47 lakh (ex-showroom), making it competitive in the mid-size sedan segment. However, the growing demand for compact SUVs and new vehicles with modern technology and attractive design pushed it back.
The lack of significant updates and segment-first features made it a challenge to keep up with changing consumer trends. The growing popularity of SUVs in the ₹ 10-15 lakh range further pushed the sedan to the sidelines.

A dignified farewell
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz 2025 is the final chapter in the sedan’s story. It bids farewell not with fanfare, but with the same calm and dignified style that has been its hallmark: reliable, comfortable and suave.
For those who want a spacious, hassle-free and low-maintenance family car, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz 2025 is still an attractive option. In an era of SUVs and tech-laden crossovers, the Ciaz is a reminder of the era when comfort and value were enough to win hearts.
With the discontinuation of production, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is leaving behind a rich legacy. It may not come out of the factories, but it will live on in the garages and hearts of owners across India.
