Tata Sierra
Scheduled to be launched during the festive season of Diwali (October-November 2025), the Tata Sierra is making a comeback in the Indian market after almost two decades since it was discontinued in 2003. The Sierra will be offered in petrol and diesel fuel options while an all-electric version will also go on sale at a later stage. Tata Motors had showcased the Sierra SUV at the India Mobility Global Expo held in New Delhi in January 2025. Sources have told us that it will be offered in 5-seater as well as 4-seater configurations.
New Maruti 5-Seater SUV
Maruti Suzuki will launch an all-new 5-seater SUV to rival the Hyundai Creta in the domestic market. The car, which was spotted testing a few weeks ago, will go on sale via Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships in the next three months. Features and engine options will be shared with the Grand Vitara. However, it is unlikely to get a robust hybrid powertrain and will be available only with petrol engines. However, a CNG variant cannot be ruled out and could be launched by the brand at a later stage.
New-generation Hyundai Venue
Hyundai is all set to launch the new-generation Venue in the last quarter of this year. It has been spotted testing multiple times and the spy pictures indicate a complete overhaul in terms of design and interiors. Sources have also revealed that the new-generation Hyundai Venue could get a Level 2 ADAS suite along with several top-notch safety features. Mechanically, the SUV will retain the existing petrol and diesel engines with the same transmission options.
Maruti e-Vitara
Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle, the e-Vitara, made its world premiere amid much fanfare at the 2025 India Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi. The company has already released most of the details of the e-SUV, including features and technical specifications. However, the price is yet to be announced and we expect Maruti to do so in the next few months. With a driving range of 500+ km on a single charge, the Maruti e-Vitara will rival the Hyundai Creta EV, Mahindra BE6 and Tata Harrier EV in the Indian market.
Renault Duster
It won’t be wrong to call it the most awaited ‘comeback’ in the Indian auto industry this year. The Duster will once again be seen on Indian roads as the SUV’s production will begin in Chennai in September 2025, albeit in an all-new form. The car, which will be launched during Diwali 2025, will be based on the CMF-B platform. The Renault Duster will be offered only with petrol engines while the 4×4 variant is unlikely to be launched in our country. We will also see Nissan’s version of the Duster SUV by April 2026.
