Beijing (Gasgoo) – Geely Automobile Holdings Limited has posted strong sales in May 2025. The company sold a total of 235,208 vehicles this month, up 46% from a year earlier. May 2025 sales details
Geely sold 138,021 new energy vehicles in May, up 135% from a year earlier. These include:
- Battery-powered electric vehicles (BEV): 95,040 vehicles, up 178%.
- Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV): 42,981 vehicles, up 76%.
From January to May 2025, Geely sold a total of 6,02,784 NEVs, up 137% from the previous year. This is 51% of Geely’s total sales, which shows how much the company is now focusing on electric vehicles.
Performance of different brands
Geely Brand:
- 1,88,670 vehicles were sold in May, an increase of 57%.
- Geely’s Galaxy brand, which focuses solely on NEVs, sold 1,01,845 vehicles, a massive jump of 273%. Galaxy has sold over 1 million vehicles so far, making it the fastest NEV brand to reach this milestone.
- Popular models of Geely Galaxy such as L7 and E8 have gained good traction in the market.
Lynk & Co:
- The brand sold 27,630 vehicles, a growth of 27%.
- Of these, 17,268 were NEV models, up 39% and accounting for 63% of total sales.
- Lynk & Co also started selling its vehicles in Egypt and Mexico in May.
Zeekr:
- Premium NEV brand Zeekr sold 18,908 vehicles, a marginal growth of 2%.
- The recently launched Zeekr 007GT model sold over 10,000 vehicles in the first month itself.
- The Zeekr 7X has started deliveries in Norway, the Netherlands and Sweden.
Decline in exports
Geely’s exports were slightly weak in May 2025. The company exported 30,017 vehicles, down 20% compared to last year. However, the company expanded its reach to new countries such as Egypt, Mexico and European countries. In 2024, Geely exported 403,923 vehicles, up 53%, but the pace slowed down slightly in 2025.
Overall performance January-May 2025
In the first five months of the year, Geely sold a total of 1173,144 vehicles, up 49% from 2024. The increase in NEV sales is a boost to the company’s “Smart Geely 2025” strategy. The strategy aims to sell 36.5 lakh vehicles by 2025, of which more than 10 lakh will be electric vehicles.
Geely’s strategy and new changes
Geely has taken several steps to focus on electric vehicles:
- New technology: Geely has developed the NordThor E-Hybrid 8848 powertrain and Galaxy N-OS technology, which is used in models such as the Galaxy L7.
- Worldwide expansion: The company entered markets such as Brazil, Egypt and Hong Kong in 2024. In 2025, it is expanding its presence in Europe and the Middle East.
Restructuring: In November 2024, Geely changed the ownership of Jikr and Lynk & Co, with Jikr acquiring a 51% stake in Lynk & Co. This move was taken to better utilize resources.

Geely’s future
Geely has set a target of 27.1 lakh vehicle sales for 2025, which is 25% more than 2024 sales (21.7 lakh). Zirk aims to sell 3.2 lakh vehicles and Lynk & Co aims to sell 3.9 lakh vehicles. The company aims to sell 50 lakh vehicles by 2027. Geely’s focus on new energy vehicles and its strategy to expand globally will keep it at the forefront of the automobile industry.
