New avatar of Chetak – Electric and Superb

Bajaj Chetak is in everyone’s heart. In the olden days, this scooter was a middle-class ride, which people fondly called “Hamara Bajaj”. In 2020, Bajaj brought it back as an electric scooter and now in 2025 it has come even better. The old look is the same, but the new technology and affordable price make it the star of today’s era.

Its design is a mix of old and new. The chubby shape and stylish look bring back old memories, while the LED lights, digital display and excellent finish give it a modern touch. This scooter looks different on the road.

Powerful performance, everyday convenience

Chetak EV is not only good in looks, but also amazing in driving. It has a 3.8kW motor, which gives 16Nm torque. With a top speed of 70 km/h, it is perfect for city roads. Its battery runs up to 108 km on a single charge, meaning no worries about long distances.

Charging is also easy. It gets fully charged in 5 hours at home, and if you need it quickly, then fast charging can charge 80% in 1 hour. It has three riding modes – Eco, Ride and Sport – from which you can choose mileage or speed. It picks up speed as soon as it starts with the power of the electric motor, which is very useful in traffic.

Bajaj Chetak EV: Enjoy smart features

This scooter is also special for today’s tech lovers. You can connect it via Bluetooth to the Chetak app. Through this you can:

  • Check battery information
  • Keep a record of rides
  • Track the scooter’s location
  • Update software
  • Get service reminders
  • Set alerts to prevent theft

The digital display clearly shows speed, battery level and riding mode, even in bright sunlight. The scooter keeps updating automatically, you don’t need to do anything.

Affordable price, easy EMI

Bringing it home by paying just ₹15,000 is its biggest feature. The rest of the price (starting at ₹1.15 lakh, ex-showroom) can be paid in EMIs of 12 to 60 months. It seems cheaper than a petrol scooter initially, but the Chetak EV is beneficial in the long run. It costs only ₹0.25 to run 1 km, while a petrol scooter costs ₹2-3. Bajaj has also given other benefits:

  • 3 years warranty
  • Free roadside assistance in the first year
  • First three services free
  • Buyback option after 3 years
  • Corporate discount
  • Savings for both environment and pocket

Chetak EV reduces pollution. A scooter saves about 1.5 tonnes of CO₂ in a year. If you ride 30 km daily, you can save up to ₹2,000-3,000 in petrol expenses in a month. Maintenance is also less, because it does not have complex parts like petrol scooters.

Where will it come from, where will it be available?

This scooter is made in a factory in Pune, where 80% of the parts are made in India itself. This supports “Make in India” and also keeps the price under control. Currently it is available in 50 cities, and will be available in 100 cities by the end of 2025. There are Chetak Experience Centers in big cities, where you can take a test ride. Cheaper with the help of the government

FAME II scheme and state government policies can provide a discount of ₹ 15,000-25,000. There is also relief in registration fees and road tax. Tax benefits are also available on taking a loan, which makes it more affordable.

Future of electric

This move by Bajaj shows the increasing demand for electric vehicles in India. The government wants 30% electric vehicles by 2030, and Chetak EV can play a big role in this. Charging stations are increasing, battery technology is improving, and this scooter is a great combination of old glory, new technology and low price.
