Great sales performance
Mahindra started deliveries of the XUV 3XO in late May 2024 and on the very first day, 1,500 units were delivered to customers across the country. Over 50,000 bookings were received within the first hour of the official bookings opening, of which nearly 70 per cent were for the petrol-powered variants. Since its launch, the Mahindra XUV 3XO has contributed significantly to the brand’s monthly sales. The launch month of May 2024 itself saw 10,000 units dispatched, laying a strong foundation right from the start. This initial momentum did not slow down – healthy sales of 9,000 units were recorded in August 2024, up significantly from the 4,992 units sold in the same period last year.
Strong hold in the segment
The sub-four-metre SUV also maintained its hold in the crowded segment and consistently recorded strong sales figures month-on-month. In FY 2024-25 (April 2024 to March 2025), it registered sales of 98,091 units as against 53,962 units in the same period last fiscal, thus witnessing a massive jump in sales volumes – 82 per cent, the highest among top-selling SUVs. It was also the tenth best-selling SUV in India last fiscal.
Upgrades and Improvements
Compared to the XUV 300, the rebranded XUV 3XO features a number of changes. A completely redesigned exterior comes with a more modern interior and a heavily upgraded features list, while one of its biggest weaknesses, the lack of boot space, has also been addressed.
Engine Options and Transmission
Mahindra has offered the XUV 3XO with three engine options, aimed at providing choices to a wide range of buyers. The standard 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine produces 115 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque, while the more powerful 1.2-litre direct injection version puts out 130 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. For those who prefer diesel, the 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit produces 117 PS of power along with a robust 300 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual, six-speed AMT or a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, depending on the variant.
